Living a health-focused life in modern times, on a planet hurtling fast forward, requires balance: Activity
balanced by repose, Stress countered with calm, Fatigue paired with new energy, Treatment that treats the source Not just the symptoms… Oriental Medicine treatment does just that. It is a physiologically based, comprehensive
system of health care. Dating back over 3,000 years in China, it has become widespread throughout Asia, Europe and now
the United States.
It is a refined, complete, understandable and usable science. Techniques of treatment
and diagnosis are based on observations of how nature and the body work. It is based on an energetic model rather than
the biochemical model of western medicine.
Techniques utilized in Oriental Medicine include Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Nutrition and Lifestyle Counseling, Heat Therapy using herbal Moxa, Oriental Body Work and Cupping, Exercise and Breathing techniques such as Qi Gong exercises. These therapies work with our natural vital energy inherent within all living things, to
enhance the body’s ability to heal itself.
Illness is a signal of an imbalance between internal factors such as diet, exercise and external
factors such as weather, trauma, microbes, poisons and environment. Chinese Medicine not only treats the disease, but is also
very helpful in the prevention of disharmony. It treats the whole person whose imbalances have manifested in distress
as the body strives to regain balance.
